work online design
To those that have taken online courses for fashion design, did it work well for you?
I'm thinking of taking online classes for fashion design. So how is it to take online classes for fashion design? Is harder to learn?
Is it better to take fashion design courses online or in school?
i went to college for five years for apparel design, and i cannot imagine how any online class could compare. for one thing, a big part of being a designer is presenting your designs / your line, which we did a lot of in classes. So speaking in front of people and being able to verbally "sell" your idea is important. Then you would get feedback from the class and teacher. It's also good to be able to see what the other people in your class come up with. Oh, and working in teams, thats another big part of it. Whoevers name is on the tag is not the only designer; they have a whole team of designers working under them.
So yea, I dont think u could get what you need for fashion education out of an online course. It's not like other majors that are just gathering info and writing papers. It's very hands-on and interpersonal.
And besides fashion design itself, the whole college experience is something that I dont think anyone should miss out on. It's four or five years out of your entire life that will not be like anything else.
